Hualapai Mountians - Aspen Springs

Driving Directions
From I-40 you can take all three exits (Andy Devine, Stockton Hill Road, and Beale Street) which all take you to Hualapai Mountain Rd. Continue up Hualapai Mountain Rd. after mile marker 11 you will see a sign that says Aspen Springs Trail Head. Turn Right and head to trailhead.

Starting here at the trailhead (elevation 6,200 ft.) you cross a small bridge to where the trail begins. Turning Right you can take a small hike down to the picnic area. Restrooms are also located here also.
But turning and going Left after crossing the bridge you can take a short hike (0.17 miles) up the the Silver Bell Mine. This mine was first worked by prospectors in the early 1870's and the mine closed on August 31st, 1994.
From here the hike starts getting pretty steep and leads to another bridge crossing then heads up to Kingman Overlook #5, which offers a spectacular view of Kingman. You have gained 250 ft. in about 1/2 mile. If you continue up the trail it leads up to the Main Trail Junction inside the Hualapai Mountain Park #4. Your total gain in elevation is 550 ft for the 1.04 mile hike.
From the Main Trail Junction you can continue hiking.



Hualapai Mountain park offers 10 miles of trails for hikers, bikers, and equestrians to enjoy. Situated atop the Hualapai Mountains, the trail provides spectacular views of the desert below and mountain ranges in the distance. Along the way, trail users will experience a variety of mountain habitats and have the opportunity to see many species of wildlife. Remember, be courteous to other users and enjoy your hike.
